Apparently, CNN’s resident idiot, Don Lemon, got taken to task when he mentioned to a British Royal expert that perhaps some folks need reparations from the Royal family, since they’re so wealthy. Watch and read what this woman said.
Did the British Empire do all kinds of dastardly things to people in other countries? Sure they did, I’m not defending that at all.
But here’s my position: if it didn’t happen directly to you, or your parents, forget reparations. There is not a current or past country or civilization that hasn’t treated some group of folks badly. As bad as it is, can anything change that??? No. Can you make it so it never happened? No.
Some of my ancestors came from Scotland, I’m told. Well, I want Prince Charles to send me a big box of money because of what happened to William Wallace (who I’m sure looked just like Mel Gibson in “Braveheart”); and what about Mary, Queen of Scots? Elizabeth I had her head chopped off – where’s my check?? Eternal victimhood, that’s me!
