Rob Reiner wants us to vote for Democracy or Fascism. I intend to.
“Fascist”, like “Nazi” or “Racist”, has been so misused it seems to have no meaning anymore. Let’s look at the dictionary, and see what defines “fascism”:
“a political philosophy, movement, or regime (such as that of the Fascisti) that exalts nation and often race above the individual and that stands for a centralized autocratic government headed by a dictatorial leader, severe economic and social regimentation, and forcible suppression of opposition“
I’m not in love with the Republicans, either, but centralized gov’t, severe economic & social regimentation, forcible suppression of opposition. Who’s that sound like to you?
To the ultra-Left, “Fascist, Nazi, or Racist” describes anyone who does something they don’t like.
