Sen. Ben Cardin Says That “Hate” Speech Isn’t Protected by the 1st Amendment

Says we should learn from what Europe is doing – arrest people for praying and memes, I guess.

Of course, “hate speech” can be defined as “anything I don’t like”.

I think the concept is stupid, anyway – if you committed a crime, why does it matter why you did it?  Would that gunshot hurt less if you “loved” the person you shot?  Nope.

How do words hurt people, even if they’re offensive to you?
