I’ve said most of these, and there are plenty more where those came from, from the very subtle to the very plain. We excel at telling folks off; my non-Southern stepdaughter described me once to a friend as “Listen to her, she can tell someone off, and you won’t even hardly know it!” It was a proud moment for me.
